... why you should not have your floppies in slot 5?
I want 6 and 7 for my MicroDrive and Uthernet (in that order).
System is an enhanced IIe.

A lot of 5.25" software will not work in anything but slot 6.
Uthernet belongs in slot 3, MicroDrive belongs in slot 7. Disk II belongs in slot 6.

Okay, I can move my Appli-Card to slot 5 leaving slot 3 for the Uthernet and slot 4 empty, unless absolutely needed.

Traditionally the 5.25" Floppies are in Slot 6, Drives 1 and 2. DOS 3.2-3.3 don't care where which Slot is Used, but Pascal is more Strict. Floppies in #6, 80 Column in #3, Printer in #1 and Serial Modem in #2, IIRC...
Slot Auto Boot Order is from Highest to Lowest, so Slot #7 is checked first then Slot #6 then Slot #5. If you have a HardDrive in Slot #7, it will Boot First over the Floppy in Slot #6.
I don't believe the Uthernet II will Boot off the Network, so the Autoboot will fall to Slot #6 and Boot off the MicroDrive. I doubt that will Time Out if there is No Medial in the MicroDirve, so don't expect it to continue to Slot #5 to Boot. You can Force a Boot the Slot #5 by doing a PR#5 from BASIC.
Also, the Uthernet II has no Firmware, so it can be placed in Slot #3, while using an 80 Column Card in the AUX Slot..
The Appli-card should go in slot 4, for maximum CP/M compatibility.
