Anyone got Tecnobytes Classic IDE

Has anyone got a Classic IDE for Apple II? http://www.tecnobytes.com.br/p/classic-ide-for-apple-ii.html

It went completely under my radar and apparently there isn't any new batch in the foreseeable future. Apparently it is a remake of the CFFA2, which is the predecessor of the CFFA3000, which is just sooo above my budget.

Wasn't the CFFA2 or the original CFFA actually an open source project? Has all the material been withdrawn after the CFFA3000 came out?

Hello protek,

It's far more that you have missed.... you just skipped 10 years of development...
even the CFFA2 had a predecessor - the CFFA and even in that stage the largest part
was performed by Rich Dreher and larger part was NOT open source....

One of the open source projects that was "predecessor" - if someone want's to claim such a project
was the IDE controller from Stéphane Guillard in France that still used real harddisk...
see:
http://s.guillard.free.fr/Apple2IDE/Apple2IDE.htm
in that stage there still was the problem to handle the tracks, heads and blocks into
working tables at ProDOS....
so that would be the point to start up the research from....

besides the link you published isn't available anymore....

sincerely

Hello SpeedyG,

Yes, I'm familiar with Stephané's project. Thanks for that and the other info!

I updated the link with a working one.
