Apple III monitor fuses

Hi everyone!

I have a few blown fuses on my apple III monitor Sad

They read socst3 and socst5, both have a circular UL (which I thought was a manufacturer logo but couldnt find them anywhere). After looking at the UL online I think maybe is a sign of some sort of production certification. So, I now need to find a replacement for a SOCST3 250V750mA and a SOCST5 125v2A

I think I found the 250v750ma here but can anyone with a little bit of EE knowledge lend me a hand on whether that is OK?

I would love to buy original fuses that match these if possible. Do any of you know where I might be able to get these??

I still have not had luck finding the 125v2a.. I found 125v with larger A value, but I think it has to be 2 or less, because that is the cut off switch and if I use a fuse with greater than 2A it will defeat the purpose of fuse being installed with 2A kill in the first place.

Thanks everyone for the help!!!

PS: also can anyone help me determine if I need slow blow fuse or quick blow? I think I can replace both with parts on ebay but I am not sure what type of fuse is needed! Thanks!

Re: Apple III monitor fuses

A circled UL = Underwriter's Laboratories. A safety certification stamping.

As for replacing the fuses, match the voltage, amperage and 'packaging' size. Like you've mentioned, if you up the amp value on the replacement fuse, it won't 'blow' at the proper time. This can cause fires or at the least smoke circuit components or wires!

As for fast or slow blow fuses, just get a regular fuse. At no time under normal operation should the fuse be exposed to greater than it's rated amperage if the circuit is designed properly.

Cheers,
Craig

Hello sotu,

Here is the manual including the schema. (Can't remember from where I've got it.)
I hope it will be readable (poor quality).

Best success,

There only seems to be one scan online - and it's lots of places (google is your friend), but the schematic is illegible. Here's one of the many places to find it:
