Apple ][+ Making Weird noises...

So, I have this Apple ][+ that I picked up a few years ago that had been sitting in a basement for some 25 years. It worked perfectly, but I eventually just left it on my shelf. I haven't used it in about 7-8 months, so I decided to fool around with it a couple of days ago. However, when I tried to turn it on, nothing appeared on the screen and the computer made this strange repeated beeping noise. I'm not quite sure where it's coming from, but it certainly does not sound like the speaker. Also, when it is turned off, the sound becomes a little louder and the power light flashes for a fraction of a second. I don't know what the problem is, everything seems to be quite clean on the inside, and has only been sitting on my shelf since it last worked. Any help could be useful.
Thanks,
VitalSinger

My guess is it's the power supply oscillating into the audible range (signifying a short or other loading problem). Try pulling all of the cards out and see if that makes a difference. But it sounds like the power supply went from marginal to failing over the time period you describe - which is not overly unusual. Replacing capacitors in the PS a pretty common fix.

Thanks for your help! I tried removing cards, and it worked! Sadly, the card I had to pull for it to work was the Disk ][ interface card, but at least the computer isn't busted.
