Copson Apple-1 on display in a museum in Germany

Hi everyone,

Just an update what happened to the Copson Apple-1: On November 14th I will lent my Copson Apple-1 to the biggest tech museum in the world, the Deutsches Museum Munich (Deutsches = German) for permanent exhibition.

Someone travelling to lovely Munich may want have a look. A major renovation at the museum is going on.

If you like for example the great National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC, than you will love this museum! It is so huge, you can spend some days.

The Apple-1 will be on display from December 2017 at exhibition ‘Microelectronics’ close to the Zuse 4.
The glass cabinet could be too small for a tv screen. Case and mainboard will fit.

From my point of view showing this unique Apple-1 in a museum is far better than hiding it at a bank safe.
There is something special about the location. The presentation takes place in front of Zuse 4. Exact at this place Steve Jobs himself handed over a Macintosh to the museum in 1985.

That’s great news! It’s been some time since I’ve been to Munich, but I travel to Germany almost every year for business and will try and visit this exhibit on a future trip. Did you replace the missing DRAM or just left as it was?

Corey checked over the Copson in 2015 and addded DRAM.
The Copson Apple is in pretty good shape.

Patrice,
I will leave it at the museum for 'permanent' display. Maybe 10 years or so. No need to rush.
Have a great day,
Achim
