dedicated to Musicians - MOOG compatible DIY Music Synthisizer project and MIDI components

Hello to all AF-members,
this posting adresses to all members that act as musicians or know some guys within a band...
in the early years of electronic music the first synthisizers appeared to be aliens from
outer space.... one of the most famous synthisizers was made by MOOG.
That kind of synthisizers have been used by Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project, Emerson Lake & Palmer....
In the years of 1978/1979 in Germany the electronic magazin elektor published an entire
project of building a MOOG compatible music synthisizer .... the covered several dozends of issues of that mag....

the FORMANT had been published by the German electronic magazin elektor in 1978/1979
the FORMANT is a complete Music Synthisizer with modules and the Synthisizer is
compatible with the famous MOOG Synthisizer and its a complete description of all modules
built with standard components - the pages contain circuitplans and pictures and films of the requires PCBs
the entire project is more than 80 lettersize pages in German language....
it will be translated entirely to english language within the next year

while now scanning my archives i stumbled across that project and fitted it for publishing the entire project
within my appleii-box.de site.

So now the entire project is availiable at:
http://www.appleii-box.de/appleboxGTpageSynthisizerFormant00.htm

have fun and enjoy the stuff....

Re: dedicated to Musicians - MOOG compatible DIY Music ...

Hello to the members at AF performing music,

here now the next strike in republishing lost gems of musical history.....
the VOCODER is a voice synthisizer .....

in fact there are 2 projects in this pages:

the first is the most early one pulished be the German electronic magazin elektor in 1977 and some addings in 1979.
This part of the project is completely in the pages with all circuitplans and PCBs.

several years later in 1981 the German electronic magazin also published a project
of a Voices Synthisizer also named VOCODER.

With the second project there is at the moment a restriction: the plan of the mainboard PCB.
The magazin did not publish it within the magazin itself but mailed it to those who requested
it from the mag by mail....
i had requested it but not kept it within the magazins in my archive - so it´s somewhere in another place there...

but due to the fact that i am now scanning the entire archive it will be discovered within the next months
and added to this pages as soon as possible.

And also here is the current limitation: the project has been published in German language
but it will be translated within 2014 to english language too....
same excuse.... the entire bunch of translations will cover more than 800 lettersize pages...
this will demand quite a period of time..... when it´s translated it will be noticed here by posting

the pages are availiable at:
http://www.appleii-box.de/appleboxGTpageSynthisizerVocoder00.htm

in the meantime read / view and enjoy

Re: dedicated to Musicians - MOOG compatible DIY Music ...

Hello to all AFmembers involved to making music,

the final uploads of the section related to synthisizers and other related projects is completed.
All together the synthisizer section contains more than 20 complete projects and several
pages containing also detailed information to special ICs.

You will find more than 400 pages with detailed projects descriptions ( at the current moment
still in German language ) circuitplans and PCBlayouts. As explained in previous postings the
pages will be translated to english language too with in this year, but due to the amount of text
it will cemand at least several months to perform that translation task. Anyhow there are only
very few pages with that amount of pages related to that topic.

While choosing the projects to be published in the APPLEBOX the upmost eyemark to that projects
has been to shoose such prtojects that are rather simple to realize:
in most cases the PCBs are single sided
in general only common IC´s are used ( only 3 projects use more rare and difficult to purchase ICs )
each project is complete in it´s description ( so all parts within a serie are linked to a complete block )

location at lower part of the page at:
http://www.appleii-box.de/

next year i will add a section dedicated to Guitar effects and projects related to guitars.....
in the meantime enjoy the material....
