I have quite a collection of dead CC logic boards, all have been recapped and washed in the dishwasher. Besides recapping what other parts can be replaced? For instance what the three LPs (LP1, LP2 and LP3) are?
How come there are no schematic around.
If anybody had some info I'd apprecited,
Ben
I have a 520 logic board that failed suddenly and I'm in the same situation. I know almost nothing about components beyond capacitors but I'm wondering if there might be some kind of tiny surface mount fuses that can be replaced?
Would a bad Logic board capacitor completely stop a CC from powering up?

Have you verified with a known working logic board that it is your logic boards, and not the CC's analog board, that's bad?
In my case - yes I have. The stock CC logic board works fine.
I have now also an LC 525, sort of Mac TV. Well all the three CC logic board ,which I considered dead, do work on the LC and the good LC board dos not work on the CC.
So my CC must have a dead analogue board...
Where do I go from now?
Ben
If I recall correctly, on the CC analog board there were two big diodes that got really hot...so hot they tended to discolor the board. Replacing those and any components near them that would have been cooked may help.
Or it might be a connection issue. I had intermittent troubles with one of my CCs on the upper edge connector. And you can always try re-capping the analog board. If you do, it's okay to use a higher voltage rated cap if needed, just don't go lower.
thanks, as soon as I have time I will go for a recapping session, probably this coming weekend!
