Kickstarter-"The First Apple"

Good evening all,

For those of you who do not know, there was a Kickstarter Funding Project to produce a book called "The First Apple" by Bob Luther.

I contributed to the project and received one of the books, along with a sketch by Ron Wayne.

The story is about how Bob obtained his Apple 1 and his search to find the original owner. There are many interviews and stories concerning the beginnings of Apple and how one of the first Apple 1's was sold out of Steve Jobs garage.

All in all (IMO) a very entertaining book. I'm not done reading yet, but I thought I would let everyone know that it's out there.

Bob sent me a copy and I have to say its a very good read. Though I'm only 1/4 to 1/2 though it.

More along the lines of a "hackers" type book or a book on general collecting, not really anything technical so to speak on the Apple-1.

You don't have to be into Apple-1 or even into computers to enjoy it. A lot of the book is really about people who collect things. If you have ever seen an episode of antique roadshow or collected things like baseball cards or record albums I think you will enjoy the book. I plan on passing it to my wife to read, Bob's comments on auctions and how most are junk and a waste of time, but every so often one works out is really something that will make watching "storage wars" on TV with my wife a lot more fun.

Cheers,
Corey

Finished the book at breakfast this morning.

It really is a good read. Entertaining and informative.

Sisko and Herbert (who ever they are) give it "Two Thumb's Up".

Does anyone know where I can get a copy, I befriended Bob Luther on Facebook and asked him but no reply Sad

FYI if you want a good read on the birth of a computer, try The Soul of a new machine": Tracy Kidder, it about the creation of the Data General MV8000 32 bit Super mini.
