There are currently 3 Apple II's (not +) on eBay but 2 of them have me a bit suspicious...

Check out:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-II-/272100822149

That one is from Russia and is VERY clean - but there is no serial number sticker on the bottom case, and the photos don't show the motherboard date. I can't quite tell if its a Rev 3 motherboard or not.

And:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Apple-II-Computer-A2S1-37049-Works-see-pics-/191782652612

To me, the keys on the keyboard look to be of the later type (more rounded/sculpted) and no information about the motherboard revision, or motherboard dates. Might be totally legit, but I would have to have a lot more info before I would even consider bidding on this one.

Weird how these seem to pop up in groups on eBay. There are 3 or 4 Apple II's on there now, and a ton of II+ and IIe's!!

Jennifer,

I've got them on my Watch List on eBay.

With the one from Russia, there are actually Four of them for sale right now.

I also had heartburn with the one from the computer museum folks.

When I saw that one from Russia, the first thing that jumped out at me was the fourth photo (closeup of mobo) is of a IIe motherboard.

Hahaha, yeah I guess someone mentioned this to the seller - they added a note which basically said that was from another computer and was mistakenly put into the ad. Smile

C'mon Steven, Robby the Robot was from Forbidden Planet (still funny to see Leslie Nielsen as the "handsome" leading man!!)
and The Robot (Robot) was from Lost in Space!

Actually, they were both created by the same guy and they appeared together once or twice in the series. (OK, sorry, had to get my LiS geek hat back on for a minute!!!)

Rev 04 - soldered-on memory config blocks. Also the word Rev is visible.
