We've had a user, who only posted in one thread and hasn't posted in about 7 years, sign in recently and delete their first thread post and subject line. Now that thread is useless as a reference for others.

Suggestion for discussion: Should we go back to having first post in a thread uneditable, but keep subsequent posts editable? I know that was an annoyance to some, but it seems a good balance between user convenience and archival usefulness.

Re: Post editing

The problem, AFAIK, is that Drupal doesn't differentiate between the first post and any subsequent replies. Editing can be turned on for all posts, or none.

Is my memory that poor that I'm perhaps thinking of the old AF software?
