So the $5,000 Rev 0 Apple II in poor condition was a bad auction...

I emailed the seller of one that's on eBay right now that reminded me of of an earlier auction I was watching. I said to myself wow it seems a lot of surviving Rev 0 Apple II systems are missing the raised power key and have a replacement power supply so I decided to do a search for the one that sold a few weeks back for 5k. Well same pics, same serial number and everything...

Well the seller told me this...

"Yes this is the same system. Unfortunately the previous buyer did not pay for this Apple II. "

So I guess they aren't worth that much... I know I almost had a heart attack when I saw that previous sale...

I wonder how often this kind of stuff happens and people searching "sold" items price things accordingly and it artificially raises the prices of stuff.

Cheers,
Corey

Well it sold again for $3700. We will see if they actually pay this time.

Corey,

I follow all the Apple II auctions on eBay. I've seen the same things myself.
It's kind of like the IIgs "Woz" Special Edition for over $1000.00 because the seller thinks it's an actual signature, or the IIc (with PS and Monitor) for $750.00. Smile

it seems the "jobs-deaditis" is still not over and still a lot of speculants around ruining the market...
and still a lot of guys that pray they might gain big profit from that kind of fever.....
the only good thing: every bubble blasts some day....
and the last guys on that train will watch their bucks faint away to nirvana....
we´ll se them again in few years hanging out on the edge of the bar: "i had owned a great apple II in mint condition..."
