Would like a working Macintosh LC or System-6-capable IIci / si / fx

I had a Macintosh LC with an '030 33 MHz accelerator and an ethernet card and System 6 on the hard drive, all of which I kept when the circuit board died and I pitched it and the box it came in.

That makes another classic LC my first choice for a replacement. I'd also be happy to get a IIci, or IIsi, or IIfx, any of the II models that have an '030 and can boot System 6.

Re: Would like a working Macintosh LC or System-6-capable ...

I'd be happy to give you mine but it has some issues:

Booting into the OS will not consistently give you color output. When this happens it has to be changed in the control panel. Maybe the problem is a dead CMOS battery?

I hooked it up to my Gateway monitor with the adapter for VGA but for some reason it went haywire and it shut itself off. I think this happened due to faulty power sockets in my house, and some safety circuitry kicked in. It now works fine.

There is some damage to the front of the plastic case. It is not cracked, just some taken off.

If all of this is ok with you then you're welcome to have it if you pay for shipping and a small amount of money for the VGA adapter if you want it. I can't give you anything else other than the unit itself. No mouse or keyboard.

I am now using a different older Mac that is ok so this LC is just taking space and I don't want to throw it out just because I don't know how to verify if a problem exists and if it does, how to repair it.
