Apple IIe Keyboard

I still haven't been able to repair my keyboard and don't know if I will even be able to. Are there any places I can buy a keyboard that works with the Apple IIe?

It depends . . .

On ebay there is a guy who has been selling some new keyboards for the platinum edition of the IIe (extended keyboard, with numeric keypad). There are still some dealers around, but they probably charge more than buying a complete unit on ebay. I've got a pile of IIe's I'm thinking of liquidating. If you're in the Los Angeles area, you can have one.

Hello. We sell them for $8 at www.GSE-Reactive.com. Many other Apple II products as well.

Enhanced Keyboard

I noticed that the keyboard you are selling has a number pad. My Apple IIe didn't have one. Will this keyboard fit into the Apple IIe I have?

Some keys don't work

I posted about the problems already in another post. Some of the keys don't work. I gave the keyboard to a guy that is a hardware engineer and he is supposed to look at it. I don't know if he will even be able to fix it. So the other solution is to just buy a new one, but the keyboard itself is hard to find.

Parts

I have several of these keyboards, most of them in pieces.
Email me at narguthru @ Yahoo.com (no spaces) and I will see if we can't get you back in bussiness.

A posible route to go.

If it's an entire row or column of keys that are out it's probably a damaged/corroded circuit trace form the key matrix to the IC decoder (or a bad decoder). I'm not famillar with the component layout of this keyboard. If it's like most it's a matrix of circuit traces that's decoded by a decoder IC which then is connected to the motherboard.

If it's the same sporadic keys here and there it's either a bad key switch or the solder contacts from the switch to the printed circuit board. If it's the later, reflowing the solder pins usually does the trick.
