Alright, recently my new G5 has been making noises. It sounds like sort of like something is rubbing on the fan for a second, but I've checked the fans. Its a constant beep that seems to be coming from around the PCI fan/ airport antenna. It goes away, but then comes back again at times. Any ideas what could be making the sound?

just to update this years and years later. For whatever reason, turning "nap" off in the processor control panels fixed the beeping issue.

Also, if anyone wants the G5 I'd like to sell it! (2x2.5ghz model), located in rochester NY.

A quick googling reveals that this is a known issue w/ some G5s, and the fix appears to be to disable Nap Mode (this 'fix' is NOT recommended by Apple).
