Help Please

I had my Ipod since august 2005 and it never gave me any problems well maybe once or twice. My ipod keeps freezing, but now it won't even come on its just blank, not even when I plug it in to the computer. Can you please help me and tell me what can be done to solve this problem.

I tried the steps that u gave me and it still doesn't work. I really can't understand this because my ipod never fell or anything and it just stopped working do u have any more suggestions?
