Recomendations for software AIFF->MP3 on an 8500?

I've been using my 8500 to mix down from Tascam porta studio (yum...analog fuzzz). I'm using ProToolsFree (totally functional, limit of 8tracks) and it came with an option (some sort of plug-in) that would convert directly to MP3. It was a trial version and now it's expired. I can save files as AIFF and now I need software to convert to MP3's...any ideas?

eArly iTunes

You should be able to run an early version of iTunes (1.1, 2.x, maybe 3.x) in OS 9 on an 8500. With a software hack, you can even run iTunes 1.1 under Mac OS 8.6. There's a recent topic here on AppleFritter about this very subject.
