Very Nice

Great job with the masking and the CD slot. The Chevy logo is a neat twist on a common mod as well

Two-tone?

Perhaps two tone it with a nice white color? Perhaps a wide white stripe somewhere on there. Perhaps transparent white paint for the keyboard? Nice job so far.

You can't tell in the pic but

You can't tell in the pic but the Kensington Orbit's roller ball is the same color and has a similar translucency to the Chevy bowtie (which, btw, is a real emblem taken off a car we used to own).

Oh yeah, and since I didn't bother to before, here's the run-down of the entire hacks ingredients:

1. Stock ColorClassic in particularly bad shape (much yellowing and the name of a local elementary school carved into the top with a soldering iron)

2. A LC 575 Mobo with a 33Mhz full '040 swapped in

3. An 8x SCSI Slot-Loading CD-ROM (had to scour eBay for months to find this!)

4. A 500MB 2.5" SCSI hard drive from my deceased Duo 280c (R.I.P.)

5. A 2.5" to 3.5" SCSI adapter (not cheap!)

6. 32MB of RAM slapped on the LC 575 Mobo

7. 10bT PDS Ethernet card with RJ-45 and BNC connectors (had to shave down the BNC)

Pretty much the most work was getting the CD-ROM to fit. That took a lot of time and patience with my dremel...something I had back when I was on unemployment and which I don't know that I'm working full time and overtime. I obtained an LC 575 backplane and still need to paint and cut it to fit, but I don;t know when I'll really have time to.
