Hey guys you might remember my old post about a 5500 in a cabinet. It had a few problems so I found a new and better Idea. I put the coputer in an old lightbright case and it now sits on a shelf above my home theater reciever. All I need is for the price of LCD's to drop so I can put a monitor on the front. Smile Here are some pics

LCDs? fooey . . . get a bunch of LEDs!

Thats a great idea for a hack chassis, run an LED light show along with your 5.1 rig!

MacBrite

I did a light brite hack to a classic box where I cut the light brite to fit into the screen enclosure and installed the light brite grill -> Mac Light Brite... I also wired the keyboard to turn it on and off...

I know, not an original hack, but I still like it... It's gathering dust some where in the basement. Yes, it was an empty box, so it doesn't have near the "cool" factor of your hack.

Cheers.

BTW: I got this empty case from a local Mac repair shop, actually I grabbed over 20 empty classic boxes. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but due to Spring cleaning, I threw out all but 2, did I make a mistake? Damn.

Boot Logo?

Make a Mac or Apple logo with the Lightbright pegs and put white EL string behind it. Power it off of the PSU so that when you boot up, the logo will light up.
