Pioneer CD-Ib100 problem..

I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD and a CD-IB100 that I hooked up to my 4th Gen 20 gig iPod. It plays music to the radio, but while connected it does not charge. Is it supposed to have a charging icon while hooked up? Thanks in advance and sorry if it's the wrong forum.
