$5 ADB trackpad/numeric keypad combo units

Hi. I realise I'm not supposed to post other people's ebay auctions here, but I'm hoping I'm not out of line with what I'm asking below.

I've contacted the seller of these cuties, but he won't ship to me by post, only UPS or FEDEX. That's $60 in shipping - I'm in Australia.

The buy now price is $US 25 for a lot of 5 Alps Glidepoint trackpads with integrated numeric keypad. He has four lots of 5 to sell. They'd be ideal for a range of hack projects, like car computers, picture frames etc.

What I'd like to know is this: is anyone else interested in picking up a 5 pack and shipping me one or two by standard mail?

Cross-posting this on the MLA

US$42 for 5 units shipped . . .

is rather alot even for here within the States (CA to NJ), exactly how much are you willing to pay for your delivered pair? Keep in mind the cheapest (reliable) post to Oz is a large flatrate EMS envelope. IIRC cost is ~US$9, which should hold 2 units stripped of packaging.

This topic might be better posted to a regular discussion group rather than Buy/Sell, since you're not looking to B/S here, you just want an international assist with a potential transaction.

Agreed

Agreed.
Waves magic wand...

There must be a number of people around AF with an old Glidepoint or two kicking around.

Yeah, it's the combination of

Yeah, it's the combination of features in one unit that attracts me, that and that it has a lid, making it a good choice for car and music projects where dust and beer (repectively Smile ) can be problems.

But I probably have enough parts here to kluge up something almost as good if no-one bites.

I didn't realise UPS ground would be that expensive within the US. Oh well, maybe if someone in California gets interested.

I bought one of these recentl

I bought one of these recently for my SE/30. The SE/30 lives in a small space so whilst there is enough space for a keyboard in front (one of those early ADB M0116 kbs), mouse space is limited. Worth having around.
