Using Shapeshifter theme without Shapeshifter...

Greetings. Lately I've been afflicted by nostalgic feel for the old Platinum look from OS 9. All the 'themes' that I've found that sport this look, though, are just Shapeshifter guikits and I don't feel like registering it for one theme. I was hoping for maybe one that sports its own installer, much like Uno.

The thing is that I've been wondering if there was anyway to get into the theme's .guikit and being manually replacing the necessary system resources to get the look. I fear, that since they were made for Shapeshifter, it won't be as simple as copying over some files. Any thoughts? Any other free way to get a nice Platinum look on OS X?
