Wireless iMac

Hi,

I have a g3 500mhz imac. I want to connect it to my wireless network at home, and was wanting to find the cheapest way to make it wireless. Airport cards are around £70 over here, so they are out of the question. I was looking at usb wireless adapters, but ive heard they arent very reliable. please advise.

thanks

oliver

APcard equiv. costs less

If you can get your hands on an iMac AP-card adapter you can use a cheapo lucent-chipped wifi card instead of the pricey pukka AP card. See the thread here on the very topic.

Alternately, you could use a wifi-ethernet adapter (such as sold for game consoles.)

edit: I picked up an iMac adapter here in the states for $25 shipped, and lucent-chipped wifi cards (I used an orinoco Silver) cost from $10 to $25. I figure $50 or so to add internal AP-connectivity to an iMac is a pretty reasonable amount.
