Battery Recall: is your iBook or Powerbook too hot to handle?

They show LG Chem, not Sony liek the Dell recall. Is Sony building the packs for Apple with LG cells, or am I missing something? Is it the same issue? Did Sony give improper specs to LG, and thus it's their problem, or did LG manuf. cells outta spec? I haven't read many reports, but most seem to just gloss over it all as a Sony problem and don't say much else.

hmm, I wonder if I can return the battery from my powerbook 100. get it replaced after all these years...it was made by sony after all.

j/k but I wonder why they are recalling LG cells, and not sony cells.

Right now, there's a monster lag in the exchange. I've been hearing estimates of 4-6 weeks for the exchange. At my work, we have several hundred impacted machines, so this will be fun. My day was spent checking batteries. Fun fun fun!
