What is the best version of Virtual PC for my iMac running OS 9.2.2 and using Windows 2000?

Right now I am running Virtual PC with Win 95 and it works fine except some of the newer edu games I have need Win 98 or 2000. I want to upgrade but have heard some versions are better than others.

Anyone versed with Virtual PC can answer this? Thanks.

Can you be more specific about the iMac? Processor type, amount of RAM, hard drive?

i have OS 9.2.2 running VPC 6

i have OS 9.2.2 running VPC 6.0 running win XP Pro SP2 on my Beige G3 AIO that has a G3 466mhz cpu and 448mb ram and a 120gb hdd and it runs ok but nothing to right home about. i don't have the additions (which i don't have) installed either which would make the video a bit faster and add a few extra abilities. i need to find the disk so i can install the addons or find some one that can give me the addons cause im missing out on the shared folder thing and a few others. i also have VPC 4 running win 98 and it does so nicely a bit on the slow sode bit runs a a usable speed. XP is a bit slower but is still usable.

to run any OS in vpc any vers

to run any OS in vpc any version you might want to get around 512mb ram in that thing before you even try. 256 will not be enuff to run vpc right. cause is going to use what ever you alocate to vpc's ram and then some for the vpc app its self. then it will leave the mac side with little ram to do anything in. i run into that problem even with having 448mb ram.

plus VPC dont do wifi that good. i have a linksys wirless g USB network adapter with speedboost version 1 and XP detects it when i plug it in and will allow me to install the drivers without a hitch but the adapter never goes active. xp acts all crazy when trying to liik in the device manager it was also missing .dll files that i had to download. but it still surfs the net and doing minor things good.

5 might be your best bet

I have 5, and it works pretty well, and doesn't slug a machine like 6 does.
