while seeing how well the new aluminum stand i built for my wallstreet could cool it, i heard an odd noise. i managed to push it all the way to having word, itunes, mozilla, and simpleimage all open at once without any overheating (i think). i got the computer up to 56 degrees celsius with all the apps open, and the computer started making an odd buzzing sound. i did mute everything, and the sound seems to be coming from the fan. the problem is, after i closed the apps, it immediately stopped. i have the keyboard off right now and can push the temp by putting my hand on the heatsink, but it's at 58 right now and no fan. i suspect the fan is jammed, so how should i check for that? and if it's not the fan, then what?

You should be able to connect +5v to one of the fan's wires and it should turn on. I can't remember what wire is what on the Wallstreet atm though. (there are three)
I do know that with my Lombard +5v is red and ground is black as I currently have it's fan patched into +5v from the USB ports on the bottom of the logicboard.
alright, i'll do that next time i have the computer opened up (like when i replace the clock battery). i think another cause of the buzz was one of the movie which i had open. it has ac3 audio which i have had trouble with, and i was able to mute it out after i posted my first message. however, it wouldn't mute the first time. probably some software tweaks and more memory will help that, but i'll check the fan anyway.
