Few things...

There is no reason to post this twice... (attn mods). Also, when asking for help, it would be good to post your system specs. How much ram has it got? what speed CPU? single or dual CPU? What OS is it running? etc... as much info as you can provide.

check your RAM... you could have some bad RAM or it may not be seated properly. Check all your connections while your in there (IDE, etc...).

Also, just cause it doesn't hurt any, try this basic troubleshooting:

To reset the PRAM: Start up holding down Cmd (the key with the apple symbol on it), Optn, P, R you will hear several startup chimes. let go after the 3rd or 4th chime.

To reet CUDA: With the computer OFF, open the case and look on the logic board for a small round button marked CUDA RESET, or just CUDA. hold it down for 2 to 3 seconds, close case. Try to boot.

AFAIK edit only exists on first posts in a blog, not the regular forums.

And you can only edit the pos

And you can only edit the post you've made until it's been replied to. Once someone replies the link for editing is removed.

google turns up wonderful results

what those 4 beeps mean. Sadly, the result may be that you will be getting a new board sometime soon (hopefully)

I am Glad you give me the benefit of a doubt, I am new to apple, have over 50 years experience with all sorts of computers, Navy, Northeast Airlines, Delta Airlines, and my own electronics businesses, some of them (Shall I say Snobs) seem to think me a dunce... Frank

You'd probably be better off

You'd probably be better off to find a cheap used G4 machine on ebay. Graphite Powermacs up to about the single 533 Digital Audio are really cheap. The 733 Quicksilver can be found reasonably priced, but is more than the earlier machines. The 667, 733, and 533 dual Digital Audios seem to be a bit thin on the ground and also get higher prices. Fast Quicksilvers, MDD and FW800 machines are still expensive, sometimes outrageously so. G4 logic boards are usually new (expensive), used but promised working(with no warranty) or broken in some way. It's likely going to be cheaper to replace your old machine and keep it around for spare parts or upgrade to at least a Digital Audio if you are still using a Yikes, Sawtooth or Gigabit Ethernet.
