4gb ram in older Macbook Pro?

Does anyone know if the new 4gb memory kits made for the the 2.2 & 2.4 ghz MBP are compatible with older MBP's? (Specifically the one I have a 2ghz one). I'm sure the spec is the same? thanks.

Yes, but...

The older Macbook Pros doesn't properly support 4GB of RAM. (Apple blames a chipset problem.) You can install 4GB, system profiler will show 4GB of RAM present, but the OS won't use more then 3GB:
