I have got a Canon S400 printer and it is printing the black color in double letters.The print out turns as if there is double print, most of the letters form a shadowy print on the side of each letter. My husband tried cleaning the print head in hot running water with a toothbrush but in vain. He feels that the print head needs to be replaced. But I feel that it just needs cleaning. Please help me!

I got the same affect on my Epson when I had flipped the switch for card stock (under the cover) and forgot about it. Once I flipped it back to the regular setting for plain paper it stopped printing double letters. Could that be the problem with yours? Also have you run the printers utility software and aligned the print heads?
