I have a Wallstreet and loaded System 10.2.8. Works okay but I don't think my CD drive works now. Is there a conflict here? What else will not work if that is the problem. I should probably go back to 9.2. I didn't load a system 9.2 on the Wallstreet when I changed over. If the CD doesn't work, then I don't know how to get it installed now.

Thanks

system 10.2.8 ???? dont yo

system 10.2.8 ????

dont you mean OS X 10.2.8

but it can be a number of things, try repairing permissions. how about

in OS X Tiger 10.4 - 10.4.10 my Pioneer DVR-110D dont work properly cause of a few extensions xpostfacto installs to get the system to work dont work right.

my Pioneer drive worked flawlessly in OS X Jaguar 10.2- 10.2.8 cause it was a supported system and you didnt need to use xpostfacto and had the proper extensions for everything to work (minus the personality card)

maybe your drive took a dump. try to run OS 9.x to see if it will work.

That's the most likely scenario. The Wallstreet doesn't require XPF to install 10.2.anything. 10.2 has native support for the Wallstreet. Beyond that, even if XPF were used, it shouldn't cause any problems. Having used XPF to install 10.3 on a 266 MHz Wallstreet, I can attest to that.

Indeed, if the drive doesn't work under 9.x or boot your Mac by holding "C" while a bootable OS CD is in the drive, then the drive itself is the culprit. Try booting the OS X installer CD again...

Peace,
Drew

my Pioneer DVR-110D will not

my Pioneer DVR-110D will not boot OS X by normal means. i have to trick it to boot the OS X install cd. but even tho i get it to boot it will fail during the file copy process.

it will however boot a OS 9.x instal cd up just fine and work 100% in OS 9.x (with burn support) and works 100% in Jag 10.2 - 10.2.8 after its installed (and gain burn support using patch burn).

but that dont mean the drive is bad just cause it wont boot the OS X install cd. it just means its not properly supported to boot in OS X, that is if it will boot the OS 9.x install cd.
if it wont boot the OS 9.x install cd then the drive is probably not any good.
