Ticking sound

I have a 700MHz iMac G4 that makes a ticking sound at a rate of about 120 per second. It's fairly quiet so wouldn't be a problem, except if you plug in the Apple speakers the only sound you get is an amplified ticking. Suggestions?

Did vacuum dust out from inside case - no change

It could well be bad/old elec

It could well be bad/old electrical wiring in the home. It happens to me at times, and depending on where I'm plugged in I can actually pickup a faint radio station.

Pretty sure that's not it

Thanks for the thought Jon - but it's a fairly new house, and not the right frequency. Occurs regardless of location... including someone else's house.

Correction

Ticking about 120 per minute - not per second
