Quicktime 7.3, iTunes 7.5, and Safari beta 3 on a TiBook 500

Just thought I'd share with some others, like myself, using PPC's on their last upgrade cycle. . .

On my TiBook500, Safari Beta v3 rendered YouTube.com inoperable. However, the new Quicktime Player, and iTunes work better than the previous versions. The video in iTunes (supposedly requiring a 1Ghz machine) now runs better than in the previous several versions, if not 100% perfect every time.

I'm very slightly bummed by not being able to use OS 10.5, but not surprised either. Still, I don't think that I'll upgrade until I need to run SolidWorks on a new machine, or Apple is putting out (more) machines with LED screens, or any with BluRay burners.

Thanks, but. . .

. . . some of the key features don't work that way. I like hacking hardware, and occasionally software, but when it comes to the OS I shy away from those mod's. Thanks for the links, they might help someone else.

This doesn't mod the OS in an

This doesn't mod the OS in any way, it just removes the blocks from the installer so it will run and install Leopard. If you have a supported system (or know of someone that does) and a external HDD that is a easy way to get past Leopards blocks without any modding, just CCC the install from the external HDD on the internal HDD and that works just fine as well.

there is a few other way's (non modding) to get Leopard installed. using OS X server is one way.

what Key features are you talking about ?

but as i said this mod in no way shape or form messes with the OS that gets installed, and runs great on my DA 533. but i can understand why if you dont want to
