iTunes v4.5, free songs, and "Steve's Playlist"

Just thought that I'd share this. Apple is celebrating one year of the iTunes music store. They've issued an new update, the best feature of which IMHO is the Party Shuffle. Also, everyday for one week, they are giving away a different song. Today's song is My Hero, by the Foofighters.

I downloaded the new version of iTunes slightly before it was announced on the Apple site (as a financial board had the press release and link(s). There is also a new feature that lets you share your favorite playlist and rate other peoples' on the iTunes store. Of course, since this is new feature, they wanted to show it off and had to generate some sample lists. So I just glanced at them and noticed "Steves Playlist" (Jobs I think), that had 100,700 votes for it (hey he is the CEO, and should have the starting most popular list, right?)

Arg! I'm not at home right no

Arg! I'm not at home right now to download the new iTunes, but it does look pritty sweet! I can't wait to try out "apple lossless" I also like the WMA convertion feture, since I know lots of people that use wma, and this would be much easyer then re-importing.

Party Shuffle is nice, but wh

Party Shuffle is nice, but what's up with that shadow thing under the current song? I also don't really like using both the flat color and the gradient in the same window area (too lazy to mod it right now). But, other than that, it's really nice. The music videos section will be better once there are more there (only 72 last time I checked).

Warning about iTunes 4.5 and older iPods

Apparently, some iPods (older ones?) aren't recognized by iTunes 4.5. Apple doesn't know why, and is working on a fix, but if you have an older iPod, you might want to hold off on installing the new software.

Hmm... mine works...

Once again, my little iPod has no problems when I'm constantly told it should... Like the fact that the battery works just fine after all this time...

1st Gen 5GB... the first iPod... and iTunes 4.5 recognizes it just fine and the iPod can play the lossless files without problem...

Maybe I just have a mutant iPod or something...

. . . which is why I often think, too often say, and rarely write . .. "I'd rather be lucky than smart, but I'd rather be both!"
