Apple II Keyboard -> Reset And Clear -> How To ???

Hi All,

Continuing on with wiring up the Apple II keyboard to the Apple 1 clone... I have a cpuple of questions:

I am curious to know / looking for tips on how to go about wiring up the two "N.O" / normaly open switches for Clear and Reset shown in the Apple 1 manual schematic (Power Supply Dwg).
I suppose I can connect the Apple II keyboard pin 3 (reset) to Apple 1 pin 1 (reset) directly.

but how do I go about doing the Clear switch? (Pin 12 on Apple 1 socket)?

Thanks for any tips,

John

Apple II keyboard reset switc

Apple II keyboard reset switch should work as is. It is a Normally Open switch that connects to ground when depressed (exactly what you need for an Apple 1). Some versions of the Apple keyboard require you to depress both control and reset for the function to work.

The clear switch also is a normally open switch. It should connect to +5V when depressed. The Apple II keyboard has no such function, but you could use any momentary type N.O. switch if you want to add this function. Connect one pole to +5V (pin 16 on Apple 1) and the other to clear (pin 12). You could possibly even hack an Apple II keyboard to do this, if you felt that there was a key on the keyboard that had no useful function for an Apple 1.
