OS X - Start up items

Hi Everybody:

Does OS X (10.3.4) have a startup folder like classic where you can drop in alias of apps you want started every time you re-start?

I used to have a few stickies to remind me of stuffs when I was using OS8.6. Now I switched to 10.3.4. I can't get stickie to launch everytime I boot. I was hoping there is a way to do the same.

Thanks guys

That's a very unusually LONG way for a Mac OS to get things done. But it works

Thanks a lot

The issue is that each user can have a custom list of apps that start when they log in. It's nice if, for example, your kids/wife/SO want a certain program to run (weather app, screen toy, worthless pile of CPU cycle wasters, etc.) when they use the machine, but you want a lean system for gaming/working, etc. It's not a long way to go when all you have to do is edit the setting in a standard OS X control panel (Login Items).

I'm confused, what do you mean its a LONG way for a mac os to get things done?

I put something in the login items and it works plenty fast for me.

I think its slicker than just the startup items in the old mac os because each user has his own login items.

Just an old man remembering the simpler times :)

I guess I am still to attached to the old way :). They still could have a startup folder that's attached to each user. For some reason, it just never occur to me to look for startup items under user setting.

BTW, Stickie starts this way, but it doesn't load any data. I still have to click on it to load my stuffs.
