ok, so i might be doing something wrong or i just dont know how to do this properly.
i got a powercenter pro 210 for free from a guy trying to throw it away. it has a 604 210mhz. and i have a powermac 7600/132. i want to use as many guts from the powercenter as possible. but i tried to install the 210 processor into the 7600 and not even the grey screen came up. i took it out and put the original in and everything was fine. are there plugins or extensions i need to do this?
plus the powercenter has a powersupply that allows for five devices, the 7600 allows only three. i have plenty of HDs and CDs to fill the slots even though i am pushing the devices into spaces that werent designed for them. is the power supply able to be pu into the 7600?

take all the ram outta ure 7600, install it into your power center, take the hard drive outta ure 7600 as well and install it into your power center
ar e you saying get rid of the 7600 and just keep the powercenter? why, i like the appearance of the 7600 better.
I'm going to guess that it may be one of two things. The information I have on the powercenter lists the buss speed at 60mhz. The 7600 likely can't be pushed that high.
A less likely possibility is that the RAM on the 7600 is way too slow. You could try swapping RAM and seeing if that helps.

The Power Center is by far a better machine, u can use standard ps2 keyboards and mice with it, takes a sandard atx power supply a pretty good machine really

i had put all the ram into the 7600 before i did the processor. but the bus speed is probably the problem. so i will take that to the bank and see what happens. i just would rather keep the 7600 because of the A/V ports, the 8 ram slots, and just the mac case. the powercenter only has 4 ram slots and no vram upgrading. but i will switch it all into the powercenter and see how it works.
The Powercenter Pro has a 60 MHz bus and there is no way the 7600 will manage that(native speeds 44-45 and 50 MHz). Keep the powercenter as it is it has ATI Rage II graphcis and that is better than the motherboard graphics on the 7600
