lukemftpd monitor

Does anyone know of any freeware that allows realtime monitoring of the ftp server in OS X? I'd like to see how many are logged in, for how long, who they are, what they are downloading, the individual bandwidth of each guest, stuff like that.

It appears that not every concurrent login is logged in /var/log/ftp.log. I've been going over the ftpd.conf man page, and the ftpd man page, but geez that's cryptic. There is a way to switch on logging in /var/run/utmp for all conccurent logins, but I can't figure it out. Also, I can't find the example of a proper ftpd.conf file, which is supposed to be there in the hierarchy somewhere.

Also, I don't understand this weirdness. I know from experience that my download bandwidth is as high or higher than 400KBs (bytes, can't think in bits), and my upload bandwidth is more than 180KBs, but when someone is hitting my server, and using about 30KBs of upload bandwidth, my download bandwidth goes to dial-up speeds (well, about 5KBs per site I open). Where is all the bandwidth going? What does the upload bandwidth have to do with the download bandwidth? I call it dark bandwidth... it just disappears! And regardless of how many hit the server concurrently, the bandwidth they draw stays around 30KBs, when the default for the ftpd leaves no limit on their bandwidth... (I realize there are bottlenecks in other places, but still, this confuses me).

Any insight is most appreciated.
