Wow... thats pretty nasty... if I had a Cube(or when I have a Cube...) I'd certainly not have its beauty and simplicity completely washed out by that kind of clutter!

Why not?

I tend to be the kind of user who works on several computers at once. Preferable three or four. When I'm doing graphics work, I find myself waiting for all of them at once. When I'm doing simple forum moderating or tech support, I find that I can use at least three efficently. One tends to be 'just an email machine', and one loads while one is being used. I'm sure I'm not the only computer user who finds using just one computer at a time hindering.

As fast as they get, they do still take time to do stuff. I cannot use -just- my iBook (over a GHz) and work effectively, though Expose has helped streamline the work I can do a lot.

As for a cluttered desktop, isn't that why we like small footprint computers? I want to use my space as well as I possibly can, and the cube fits the setup perfectly.

In other words, I think it's a rather nice setup.

I'm an Art major if it helps to kill my geek score.

His power bill? Ha! I'll post pictures of my "room" when I get home from school.

EDIT: I ended up having extra time now, so they're up. Check my image gallery.

Maybe you should consider usi

Maybe you should consider using multiple monitors? Running 2-3 displays can really give you some space. I run multi displays, and if one app is doing something, I just move to another app (I love OSX). It all works out well, I havent hit a wall to where I HAVE to have multi machines at the same time because one is so bogged down it is unusable. Even with doing graphics (100MB+ photoshop files)

I tend to bog down machines with too many processes at once. Granted, when I use multiple machines for graphics, I'm usually using sub 1GHz G4's, so they're easy enough to bring down.

One of my favorite theories being, if I have the machines there, why not use several computers instead of just the one. I'll admit, for work (tech support for a Mac hosting company) I could probably get away with just one and a couple monitors, but given that I'm the only guy in the office for 5 of my 8 hours, it's just easier to use the machines around me.

What's a good way to run multiple displays off the same computer? At home I work with an iBook G4, at work I use an eMac, and for graphics I use the previously mentioned G4s.

Yes, most of them came from a school. I got extremely lucky and managed to get 9 blue and whites, 5 strawberry iMacs, and one slot loading iMac. Quite cool, I would say. If anyone wants anything they see in the pictures and has a Wallstreet or Kanga they'd be willing to trade for it, please contact me.
