Hello, I have an old Apple 17" CRT Studio Display (the one made for the G4 Cube). Only problem is, it has a crack in the stand that prevents it from standing upright. I was wondering what kind of material the stand is made of (lexan, plexi, etc.) and how one would go about fixing it. Thanks in advance for any help.

which is glue-able using a solvent type 'adhesive". I've used Ambroid ProWeld.

liquid superglue should do the trick just fine (dont use the gel stuff)
Would this stuff work with a cracked base on a 20" Apple Multiscan monitor as well? :?
Currently the front of the monitor is being held up by stacks of dominoes in the appropriate locations.
Those displays are made of ABS, best choice is a solvent welder.
ABS and PC both are solvent weldable, but while I've had mixed results with PC I've only ever had excellent results with ABS. ABS welds beautifully so I'd discourage using any glues on ABS, including 'Super Glue'.
(I think) PC parts must be super-clean and must fit together precisely, else weld may not hold. I'm not really sure, as some welds have proven super-tough, others easily broken. Maybe the specific formulation of the PC matters? In any case, with PC I'd still suggest trying a welder first as it will leave behind no residue (which may have to be scraped off), unlike a 'normal' glue.
