I bought this Pismo to use for testing and repairs of some other components. It was bought locally and is in perfect condition. It has the original box (matching serial number and everything), a travel power adapter, a expansion bay VST SuperDisk drive and 7 sealed SuperDisks, a leather keyboard cover/screen protector, the DVD-rom drive, a battery with 3hrs of life left, all the original adapter cables, and the yoyo power adapter... The original CDs, documentation, etc.

It currently has Panther and iLife '04 installed on it.

The "Pismo" is the black dual-firewire 1MB cache G3 powerbook. It also has an airport card slot and antennea built into it.

Write me at and make me an offer. I won't take less than I paid for it locally though.

So. . . how much did you pay for it locally?

Ok, so look... I'd rather not break even. So, I am looking for offers. Not exactly what I paid for it. I'll put it on ebay tomorrow and get a higher price for it if nobody here wants it.

I don't think anyone wants to

I don't think anyone wants to low ball you. However, you posted something for sale explicitly stating you won't take less then you paid for it. It would be helpful to know what you paid for so that someone could make an informed offer instead of just offering you a guess. It generally is far more effective to sell something with an asking price.

I have not found that to be the case at all actually... and I do a LOT of hardware sales.

It really depends on what is being sold. I will sell it on ebay and make more than I would have let someone here have it for.

Tom or someone: delete this thread please. I am very tired of people writing me 4 months after the fact and wanting to buy goods that are long gone.

I gotta agree w/ guskid...

It is much appreciated that you would come to us first and be willing to acccept a lower price. But I have no idea what these things go for as I seldom look at eBay (even for pricing). I would have offered $200 (all I can afford at the moment), but feared that this was far below what you would have accepted, so I did not even bother asking. That and I did not want you to feel I was trying to insult you by asking for something ridiculously low.

I would have been the same way...

..not knowing exactly what to offer. What she paid for it "locally" could mean anything. Anyway, it is moot--she sold it on eBay for $500--more than I would have paid for it, but that is just me. Sounds like there were deeper problems anyway, considering that the post was up about a day before she ran to eBay and asked for the post to be deleted--see above. The great thing about sites like this is that we can kind of give each other "first dibs" on things we are selling with some consideration in the pricing. But if you are going to do that, be prepared to give people all the info they need to make sure that you are not wasting their time or yours.

Just my two cents.

Peace.

hahahaha Nope, there were

hahahaha

Nope, there were no "issues". I just decided to get it sold faster and not wait around for months until someone from here made me an offer. I can't even count how many times I have put things up for sale here first to offer this community first dibs and a lower price and I don't get any offers until 2-3 months later.

It was/is perfect and the nice lady on eBay who bought it will be very happy.

I just know that things sell for a lot more on ebay and decided that I would rather just do that than wait around for the Applefritter community.

I would have deleted my post if this system allowed for that, however, once something has replies, there is no longer any way I can see to delete it.

I apologize...

..I was not trying to offend you.

By issues I meant of the type that you describe here--concerning a desire to have quick and profitable dealings, not any other that you may have inferred from my previous post.

I also cast no aspersions on the quality of the goods--I checked your eBay feedback and it shows nothing but satisfaction from those with whom you have had dealings, so I am sure this lady will have an experience no different. Once again, I was simply stating that I would not have paid $500--an issue of funding and prudence in spending only I assure you.

Lastly I would offer that if the process of selling on sites such as this is such a burden, then perhaps eBay is your best outlet. Sounds like you did fine in this particular instance.

I apologize again if I offended you, and good luck in your future dealings, wherever they take place.

Peace.
