My grandpas iMac G3 350 (i think thats REV. C) needs a new pram battery. Im ok with taking it apart to some extent but where is the battery and what type of battery is it?

Also, will it still remember date and time if it is off but plugged into the power?

Thanks in advance

The 350 would be a slot-laod

The 350 would be a slot-laod so it's beyond the Rev. A-D series. It takes a typical Mac PRAM batty, the 3.6v Tadiran 1/2AA Litium and compatibles. To change it, you need to uplug the iMac and turn it topside down on a soft surface. Then there are four screws to be removed there to get the bottom plastics off. Then you will see the internal wire mesh logic board cover. Pull the six or so screws holding that on, and carefully slide it straight up and off. You should see the PRAM battery holder quite easily off to one side near the middle fo the board. Swap in the new one, reassemble, powerup and fix any dead settings. Some might reccomend a PRAM reset as well, but that may depend on what happens when you power it up.

My iMac 350 will keep the date and time when it's off if I leave it plugged in.

Radio Shack carries them. It would probably be easiest to take the dead one in with you to make sure you get the correct one.
