Can anybody recommend a digital video camera that's compatible with iMovie and doesn't cost more than about $300? This is for a gift.

The Sony DCR-TRV280 looks pretty good...and it's $299.

I have an older Canon ZR mode

I have an older Canon ZR model that I've been using for about 5 years now and it works great with iMovie, Premire, Final Cut Pro...If you go with the MC style you can add the SM cards and use it as a digital still camera as well. http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=697073/search=zr%2520canon
I'm sure if you shop arround you can find one in your price range. I always recomend Canon cameras weather it be still 35mm digital or video.

Take Care,

Danny
