Every now and then this topic comes up around here and it just won't seem to die. I also get emails from time to time. Well, I went through all the trouble to find it, so here is a copy of the spec sheet for the G3 standard ZIF module.

This spec is no longer published ANYWHERE, so everybody please download a copy and SAVE it and POST it whervever you can.

Humm it is interesting to see

Humm it is interesting to see that is a Mot document.

Do any other systems use the socket/pinout?

The reason that I ask is that I was working on a IBM RS/6000 43P-150 a month or so ago. The socket looked a lot like the G3 socket. I did not pull the chip out but it seemed to have that odd height that the G3 sockets have.

Yes both IBM and motorola used that socket in their PPC machines, as well as some of the garage hardware boxes.

Looks like Motorola used to host that PDF as well, but the only link I've found to it is broken. You might want to shoot Dr. Bob an e-mail to see if he still has the file kicking around (and if he does, we can host it here on AF).

I've asked Dr. Bob by e-mail

I've asked Dr. Bob by e-mail already, hope he still have it somewhere Wink
I was trying to contact Motorola by e-mail already, but apparently my e-mail was received by mobile phones division, so they had no idea about this file...
