Ibook in aluminum case?

Ibook in aluminum case?

hi,

i have a spare powerbook g4 12" case, and i also have a 12" g3 ibook. would it be possible to put the ibook in the aluminum case? i would probably have to mod the side or the aluminum for the ibooks cd slot right? would this be hard?

looks difficult

I picked a complete 12" AlBook shell awhile back and contemplated the same thing. While technically possible it wouldn't be easy. First off, the AlBook shell is a bit smaller than is the iBook's, and secondly I couldn't see any practical way to solidly locate the iBook's innards into the AlShell without some serious fabrication work.

Not for the faint-hearted obviously! Nor for the seriously over-projected like me. Just too much to invest for a very dubious return.
