ok, i just got a recall notice and wanted to put it out. If you have a battery in you iBook G4 12" or PowerBook 12/15" and it was sold between Oct 2004, and May 2005. Let it be known that you could have a battery that is possible to overheat and catch fire. Apple has issued a recall, and has set up a program. This information might be helpful to those that have either not gotten the notice in the mail yet, or have had the mail lost. more info is at the apple site: https://depot.info.apple.com/batteryexchange/index.html?lang=en
im surprised apple did not put this on the front page or under the news section. I had to got to the suppory area to find out where they posted it.
It is on the front page. I saw it up on apple.com when the recall was first issued. It is at the bottom of the page above the iBook logic board repair program.
It was all over their home page this week. MacInTouch should be the one news and support site that any Mac user should be reading at least weekly, if not daily. These guys make it their business to keep an eye on all things Macintosh, and if it's important (like the battery recall) you'll read about it first there.
