Vinyl sheets for case mods?

Anybody have feedback about the practicality of using vinyl sheeting in PowerBook case mods? I'd like to be able to design logos and such to include in some of my mods. Printing onto vinyl sheets that can be cut and applied to a PB's outer shell would be so convenient. I'd like to paint the rubberized tuxedo part of a G3 PB and apply a sort of vinyl decal - I could seal it with a clear coat spray. Any reason this wouldn't work...?
