PM-ing yourself

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but I can't delete a PM I sent to myself. I've tried Safari and Firefox under 10.3.9, and Firefox under W2K.
Not a major problem, but I thought someone ought to know.

Yeah, known issue that I've got to fix. It's a Drupal bug. Thanks!

http://www.applefritter.com/taxonomy/term/59 , or the 'Creation' link on the front page, spits out PHP gobeltygook just like Navigation used to. I'm also experiencing the thing where I can't delete the PM I sent to myself.

I'd just like to remind the powers that be that both problems are still there. The link to the old Applefritter still isn't working, either.

You should be able to delete a message sent to yourself now.

reply

when you reply to a post, it always puts your reply at the bottom of the thread, instead of under the post you replied to ... and it doesn't nest it (for instance, to prove the point, this is actually a reply to "bugs," the second post, yet here I am, way at the bottom). This has been going on since before the Great Fritter Hack of '05, but I remember posts used to act that way... so I'm not sure if that was removed intentionally or not.

actually...

it is easier to find new posts when they are at the bottom, but you can set the prefs on how it is displayed at the Comment viewing Options right under the fist post on a topic. Then just hit the "Save" button. Then it will do it like you want. You will want a "Threaded list"

Old site gone?

The link to the old site and forums is still kaput - is this a policy choice or a bug?

/edit/ You can get to the old forums direct for those who are looking for stuff. Search engine still works too.

Fixed. Naming conflict with a new bit of script. Also, working on migrating the old AF material over. I'll post when it's done, it's taking time.

Old page is still being pulle

Old page is still being pulled up. Sorry, I'm having to sort through all the content to make sure only the stuff that needs to get transferred over is actually transferred.

Illegal Instruction was taken down as of September.

why? if it was taken down, then remove the link from the page so I stop going there and wasting your bandwidth. -digital Wink

Looks like image gallery upload broke again

warning: getimagesize(images/temp/tmpimg_Picture-3a.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/www/data/modules/image/image.inc on line 30.

warning: filesize(): Stat failed for images/temp/tmpimg_Picture-3a.jpg (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in /usr/local/www/data/modules/image/image.module on line 610.

I get this error trying to upload a 48k jpg.

[EDIT]

ok, it works, but its wonky...

choose file, then preview works...
but when you go to hit Submit, it doesn't work, because after the preview, the "Choose File..." drops the image...

So, after preview, if you choose file again, it seems to work.

I think I broke the image gallery again

I uploaded one picture, worked great.... I go to upload the second, and it hangs, then the page never resolves. I took a look at the pic I already loaded up... and realized it was WAY too big... so I deleted it, adjusted the 3 photos I wanted to upload to be cumulatively under 250k, then tried again... same thing... page won't resolve after I hit submit.

I wonder how long I can host my own images to posts? Problem is, the web server I use that for doubles as my drive prep box... so when I go to set up drives, and I have a whole bunch waiting, I'll be rebooting it over and over and over for each drive... and during that time the server will be down, and my posted images won't resolve. I thought I'd eventually fix the posts after I loaded up the images to my gallery but, duh, that's not really possible for me to do... but maybe an administrator will be nice enough to fix a few image links once I have them in my gallery?

File upload is broken

<br /> Fatal error: Call to undefined function: fscache_is_file_stored() in /usr/local/www/data/modules/filestore2.module on line 338<br />

It would appear to be server side, but for the record I'm running Firefox 1.5 on Ubuntu Dapper Drake Linux.

The search function isn't searching forum posts properly - i.e, search for "podcast" returns nothing despite it being discussed recently.

Editing and Previewing Posts

Just out of curiosity...

1) How come we can't edit initial posts (new topics), once posted (yet we can preview them before posting)?

2) How come we can't preview responses to posts (yet we can edit them, so long as no one has responded to them)?

Email Update is insane!

I didn't set any of my settings to email me updates from threads, but now whenever there's a response to a thread I've posted in, I get about 6 or so emails from AF about it... how can this be fixed, or how can I turn it off? When I tried to edit my subscriptions info I was told I didn't have sufficient permissions...

Check out this screencap from Eudora Pro: http://www.fenestrated.net/~macman/AppleFritterInsanity.gif

I've just set the permissions for the subscriptions module, you should have sufficient permissions to edit them now.

catmistake - It's a glitch

catmistake -

It's a glitch somewhere in the system we haven't had time to track down. We're planning on an upgrade in a few months, and hopefully that'll fix it.

spelling error on Kiwi

Sometimes a response will be there within minutes, but sometimes it takes a day or two. We have no paid staff to spend all day answering requests, and we rely on our users taking the time out of there their? day to have a look and write up good answers to your questions. Don't complain because you haven't received a response within an hour, and don't bump your thread expecting to get more visibility.

A little ironic since it came about a paragraph after mention of using spellcheck and use of good grammar.

(I do the same thing all the time, so it is not intended to be a slam)

Kiwi recent posts missing

For the last few days, the 'recent posts' for Kiwi has been empty. Is this intentional?

Fixed.

We have to add a rewrite entry into the .htaccess to get around some restrictions drupal has regarding adding links into the tracker tabs-menu. When we do a backup, we swap the .htaccess for one which redirects you to the 'we're doing a backup, 5 minutes...etc' page, and then after the sql dump is complete we copy in the normal .htaccess.

I forgot to update the normal .htaccess copy to include the rewrite, so every time it was doing a backup, it'd effectively delete the rewrite statement

Difficulty uploading images

After the first page in the uploading images form, the second page is blank. "Help me Landru!"

I noticed when viewing my gallery, that I could edit an image and would get the proper option for uploading a different image in the same space.

BB Code for picture insertion. . .non responsive

I've tried using the picture (into the body of a posting) insertion BB Code as parsed here on the site, with no luck. Any advice? Should I just go to HTML?

Mutant_Pie

P.S. You can see some of my recent posts in the Remember Outdoors section for examples.

P.P.S. I had some partial luck with the Mutant Fly's thread, and got a thumbnail picture inserted, but i can't review what I did there as the site won't let me edit the post (and see the text). Is there a time limit on being able to edit your own posts?
