I happened salvage an Imac G3 from a dumbster of the local community college. I plugged the
(PC) keyboard and mouse and powered it up. It booted up as usual. After It ran Disk Doc; It opened up the desktop. Mouse is moveable through out the screen but when ever I try to click menu or double click an icon, it didn't respond.
Have anyone experienced similar problem? Is it worth keeping?

If you're getting to the desktop, I'd say it's worth keeping. The iMacs trouble-spot is the monitor.
For your mouse problem, it could be the OS has some hiccups, or it might not like the PC mouse you're using. Have you tried using it plugged into the keyboard (if that's an option) vs. plugging it directly into the USB ports? And do you know the mouse is working properly?
Maybe this is why they threw it away. Did you try left-click with the PC mouse? Try rebuilding the desktop (option+command at startup). If that doesn't work, do you have access to a Diskwarrior CD? I'd startup from a Diskwarrior CD and rebuild the directory. Diskwarrior is essential for Mac owners, especially for OS 9.
you can use the kb's arrow key's to select stuff on the desk top and i think command or control o to open and command or control w to close. have you tryed reseting the pram or pmu.have you tryed to reset the open firmware. yea if it boots up there is nothing wrong with it it just sounds like it needs to have the old os nuked and reinstall os 9.2 or put os x 10.2-10.3 on it. thats what i think is wrong.just blow up the orignal os and put a fresh install on the hdd than all will work fine.if im not mistaken some pc usb mouse had problems under os 9.2 if you dont have the extentions for it
