I bought a Panasonic UJDA-710 drive for my Powerbook G3 running 10.3 and it isn't reading the discs. It is recognized in System Profiler and I've downloaded and installed Patch Burn. The drive is still set to slave, but as I understand that should only be a problem for booting from the drive. I'd rather not solder anything if there is a problem with the drive. Is there anything I can try to get it working, or is it probably a problem with the drive?
