You can probably get it from

You can probably get it from a retailer, or buy iworks from apple. Textedit can be setup to make an RTF file, and be used as a decent word processor. Also, you can download abiword which is a free word program.

AppleWorks was good back in 1

AppleWorks was good back in 1995. Nowadays, AppleWorks is pretty much dead, and hasn't been updated in years.

iWork and Microsoft Office are better, but if you want a free option, OpenOffice is a good idea:

ClarisWorks

Take your pick here http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#claris
or grab AppleWorks 6 from the applications folder on any early iMac (OS 9.0.4) install disc, and then update from Apple.

At the Apple Store!

The last time I was in one of the Apple retail stores, they were still selling Appleworks 6.2.9, which I thought was weird considering the iWork program has been out awhile. MacMall sells it too.

I use it all the time, and find it to be generally fine, except for the occasional bug, especially with the "drawing" feature. Oh well. . .
