Compact "turbo Quadra" 68k machine

Compact Turbo Quadra:
Quadra 800 in a Custom Quadra 700 case - $19 plus shipping

This is a special unit, in a customized, very compact package. It's perfect for anyone who wants a compact, powerful 68k workhorse. I love this machine, but I'm pressed for space and I don't use it often enough to justify keeping it. Please note Terms of Sale at the end of this message.

Important details are below; basic specs are as follows. PM me, or email me (mruben -at- critpath -dot- org) with inquiries.

- Quadra 800 motherboard
- Quadra 700 case with custom black lid (or stock beige lid if you prefer)
- 33MHz 68040 CPU
- 72MB RAM
- Genuine Apple 230MB internal SCSI hard drive
- Asante ethernet card installed (works natively with Mac OS)
- Radius video card installed for second monitor capability
- PRAM battery not guaranteed, but definitely holds a charge
- Fresh install of Mac OS 8.1

Details:

- Faster: Quadra 800 board provides 33MHz system bus and CPU speed, compared to Quadra 700's 25MHz.

- Better Memory: Quadra 800 board allows max 136MB RAM instead of Quadra 700's 68MB limit. Q800 also uses faster and easier to find 72-pin SIMMs instead of Quadra 700's 30-pin SIMMs.

- Easier Service: Unlike original Q700 mobo, the Q800 mobo allows for upgrading of RAM without removing power supply and drives.

- More Power: Q700's 50-watt power supply has been swapped with a heavier duty, 150 watt one from another Mac to ensure enough power for Q800 motherboard and peripherals.

- Better Looks: Case includes the hard-to-find Quadra 700 feet (shown in pics). Feet are custom colored to match the black lid/beige body color scheme (see pics). I also have a stock beige lid if the buyer prefers that instead.

- Same Compatibility: This machine appears to Mac OS as a standard Quadra 800 - no "Franken-Mac" complications here. Also, the Q700 speaker has been rewired to fit Q800's motherboard connector, so normal sound function is preserved.

TERMS OF SALE:
- Price does NOT include shipping (from Phila, PA 19123)
- Will not ship outside U.S. - sorry! (shipping weight approx. 16 lbs. - very expensive even to Canada)
- PayPal preferred; USPS Money Order also accepted
- No other forms of payment (unless you've bought from me before)
- PayPal verified (370+); all-positive eBay feedback of +314 as "mattruben"
